Is it normal to have a husband trying to dictate my life like this?

Like for instance, he is Italian, since we met he asked me to speak to him English only so he learned. I did that no problem and with pleasure,.. now, as of today he is always whining when I am saying a sentence and cannot find the right word and say it in Italian...or like today I got a used piano in the mail and he wanted me to open the box on the floor and not on the couch cause he thinks the box is nasty since you do not know where it is coming from.. I am just tired at times of all these little ''rules'' he makes and if I rebel fights always ensue...
