2pac shooting in '94...start of east coast / west coast war?

The whole East Coast/West Coast thing began when Tim Dog (an affiliate of Ultramagnetic MC's, particularly Kool Keith) dissed the whole West Coast with the song "F*ck Compton" because of the fact that the West Coast was getting too much attention while East Coast left overlooked. The song is controversial and many rappers responded. This tightened up the relationship between the East and West. Tupac/Biggie conflict just added more fuel to the beef.
