Why is french so confusing?( please read)?

Why is the word order all mixed up?For example, "je suis qui moi". Why is "qui" in the middle and je" suis" at the beginning? Also other example would be, "tout a jour". Why is "a" in the middle. It would really help if someone can tell me the grammar rules for the French sentence structure and word order. It's hard for me to learn the language if I can't put the sentences together or the words in the right order.
